Help Nazanin Mahabad Fatehi

The last update on this story is that Nazanin will be freed. She will have to pay blood money but there will be no death for her. I was very glad to read this.

There is an update to the below story to be found here. The trial is over, the verdict is not in.

there is an on line petition to save this woman's life. What was her crime?

She has been condemned to death for stabbing one of three men who attempted to rape her and her 16 year old niece in a suburb of Tehran. That's in Iran, a country not known for judicial fairness. The petition now has over 200,000 names worldwide, won't you add yours to the list.

Even being in Iranian custody can kill you. Canadian Photo Journalist Zahra Kazemi was killed while she was in custody in July 2004, and no one has really been punished. Zahra was a Canadian Citizen but that didn't stop the Iranians from killing her.

I don't believe there was ever a fair trial just as I don't believe that Nazanin can get a fair re trial.

Back to the knitting....
