Saturday Rant - It's Been A While
You knew it was only a matter of time right, well today the only really good thing is, the sky is blue, yup a really beautiful blue sky with hardly a cloud to be seen. Unfortunately this also makes for a really cold day. The really bad thing, there is another winter storm headed our way from America (hey guys, can't you keep it?), due to hit tomorrow night. It's not quite clear yet whether it's going to be snow or freezing rain but at the moment the prediction is for another 30 cm of the white stuff.
Thus far here in T-Dot we have had 70 cm (28 inches) of snow in February alone and the month is not over yet. This has broken a record from 1950. A little global warming would be kind of nice right about now.
Now this stuff, if it falls as predicted will go right on top of the 3 meter piles that are currently residing on our street and have turned it into a one way street. When two cars arrive from opposite directions it makes for tricky driving. Yesterday, while I was out I saw people almost coming to blows over who should try to squeeze into a snowbank to let the other pass, bizarre...
The city has a plan, of course they do...just when and how it will all work seeing as they really don't have the right equipment remains to be seen. I've check the website and I know our street is not on the list to have the snow removed. Emails to my local councilor have been futile. There are elderly people living on our street that use walkers and canes that cannot get out of their homes. If we really get more snow, emergency vehicles will have great difficulty negotiating the streets.
My arrhythmia is back in full force on a daily basis now and I'm not certain if it's caused by the Prednisone or just the stress. The shot of cortisone I got last week has done nothing to relieve the pain in my foot and I still can't walk. I'm also now back on the wait list for the heart ablation surgery, and I'm told it's a really long list.
But the worst, the absolute worst of all, is that my Internet connection is down and has been down since yesterday afternoon. Calling Sympatico, my service provider has brought no relief. I'm now told it's the entire region and every phone call to customer service brings more frustration. The company outsourced to India a few years ago and although they are incredibly polite and patient there are at times communication is a problem. So far every phone call has brought the same response, "three hours madame"; it's now been 24...
Lucky for me there is an unsecured network floating around over me somewhere that allows me some limited access, hence this post. Have a lovely stress free weekend and I'll visit all my favourite blogs next week...I might even get more knitting done.

Goodness, that is alot of snow. here in Ohio we have had the strangest winter I think I ever remember. It gets so cold, like minue 10 degrees f. and the very next day or two days later it will be 50 degrees warmer. weird! We have had so much rain (also strange for winter) that almost every where is flooded. We have not had alot of snow ,and what we do get, of course melts quickly from the temps fluctuating so much.
I hope you can get this heart ablation done soon. Thes ecortizone shots also dont work for me. A waste of time and money.
Hi Cathy, yup this is the most snow since 1999 here in T-Dot and today were actually getting freezing rain, yuck. The cortisone helped when she injected my foot but this time she said I'd need three injections, therefore she thought the bum would be better....ciao
thank God for unsecured network! i hope you'll have your surgery soon.happy Sunday to you! :)
My network is back, seems faster than before too. I had to break down and take a heart pill today, the arrythmia was so bad it scared me. I hope I don't have to wait too much longer...
