Huh!!
With sincerest apologies to my American friends, I simply can't get over the sheer audacity (love that word) of some members of President Obama's administration. Where did he find her?
Anybody remember the interview Janet Napolitano had with our local media where she uttered the following wisdom;
"The fact of the matter is that Canada allows people into their country that we do not allow into ours," she said.
I guess she wasn't kidding. So what do the Americans want from us? Well they would like to take some 17 Chinese Uighurs terrorists who currently reside in Guantanamo Bay. Seems even U.S. authorities don't want them in the country. Well guess what, neither do we and our Prime Minister rightly turned down the request to take them.
Not our problem, this country has done enough by fighting in Afghanistan we don't need your Gitmo detainees. Another Canadian soldier died today in Afghanistan. He was just a child.

I don't want them either. Let's send them back to China.
Yes Rudee but they are "yours", for better or worse, Gitmo belongs to you. They will be killed back in China. We are not the only country being asked to take Gitmo residents.
*kicks toe in sand*

Ms. Bee, no one is meant to apologize, it's not necessary. This is just to inform. Our border with America is now fairly "closed". Everyone now needs a passport to cross and there is a trade war brewing.
There has been a trade war ever since Mulroney and the so called Free Trade Agreement....Americans have always wanted our water...especially the Californians....the forest industry in the states thinks we don't have enough tariffs on our products and wants to control that....the fising industry is always in a state because fish don't recognize boarders when they cross them in their migratory path.
So as far as the prisoners go...let the Americans figure it out its their mess...they made it.
As the mother of a 22 year old son, my heart aches every time we lose another "child" in Afghanistan.

Smalltown, the free trade agreement was so unfair to Canada I agree. It is time to renegotiate. There is a trade war brewing in small town Ontario right now. Mayors don't want American companies bidding on contracts. Voyager, I have grand sons that age and my hear hurts too.
