Blogging Lite
This might be my only post this week depending on how I'm feeling. I did want to explain why though. I have a number of health issues to deal with this week starting with the Arrhythmia. It has been particularly bad in the last few weeks and tomorrow finally I have an evaluation with the anesthesiologist. Once that is out of the way there is one more meeting with the Ablation team and then were good to go for the surgery.
The second thing to deal with this week is the foot. This is the same foot that I broke in April of last year while my Mother was hospitalized and didn't heal well. That was of course my fault as I didn't seek medical attention at the time. There are conflicting opinions as to what I should do now but I need to get another opinion. I have tried cortisone shots and heavy doses of Prednisone and neither offered any relief. I am basically housebound right now because I simply cannot walk without pain.
And to top it all off I have a migraine and I'm going back to bed. The wonderful drug Maxalt that usually works in a couple of hours has been forbidden to me by the cardiologist. He said it could kill me...not really worth it I guess.
I will read all my favourite blogs, but unless I have something important to say this week I'll just take a break. I do have some knitting to do though...

That's a LOT to contend with! Take care of yourself; we'll be here when you get back!

Taking a break sounds like a good idea. I hope everything goes well in regards to your upcoming surgery, and you get that foot fixed properly!
Feel better!
Sure a lot pof problems to be faced with all at once. I can sympathize on the foot problem--I have been battling foot problems for years with no hope of it ever getting better. I hope they can do something for you!
I think you should just rest and take it easy until you are feeling better. I hope that happens soon and you are back to your ole self again soon. I will be thinking of you.
Oh my poor friend...I am so sorry you have been unwell....one thing at a time eh! Get the appointment over with....then deal with the foot...oh but then there is you migraine..you certainly have my sympathies there...being a migraine sufferer myself...find your comfort zone and just chill...we will all be here when you get back and anxious to know how you made out...take care...
Aging sucks...I don't care what they say!
Somebody told me once that all it takes is a hip or knee joint to leave us incapacitated. Although I am very careful...I worry about falls on ice.
I'll be thinking of you this week, Rositta..and hope all goes well for you. I can only imagine how frustrating it is for someone like you to be house-bound.
My prayers are with you as you prepare to deal with the medical community.
Thank you all for you wishes. The anesthesiologist consult went well and tomorrow I will deal with the foot. Next Friday I meet the ablation team and set the date for the actual surgery...
I'm sorry that you have so much going on. I hope that you get a good answer on your foot and are feeling better soon, and that your surgery is fast and swiftly healed from. Is imitrex also not usable?
Sending good thoughts your way...
Hi G...Imitrex is in he same family of drugs. It closes the blood vessels and that's what can cause a stroke or heart attack. I used to take it years ago.
That makes sense, of course, since it's what I use for migraines. Maxalt was not as effective for me.
take care of yourself and see you back on here soon.
hugs girlie :)
That sounds awful... I sympathise so much!
Not least because a couple of years ago I had a (not serous) fall and afterwards my foot swelled up and was incredibly painful for ages. I couldn't walk on it. I couldn't even bear the weight of the bed-sheet on it.
After x-rays and all sorts of tests... they finally diagnosed gout! I was outraged. Gout is something middle aged overweight admirals get when they drink too much port surely!
Apparently a small number of women can also get gout. And my father, brother and grandfather were all sufferers....my Dad's gout started after he broke his foot too.
I hope yours turns out to be something as treatable as that. (These days I just have to take one pill a day and I haven't had any more problems with it)
I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Migraines are just awful, on top of the heart situation you need to have taken care of. Sounds like you may be looking at two surgeries coming up? Take care of yourself and keep in touch.
Take care Rositta. I hope you get your ablation really soon and you get better from all these ailments.
Still a little down and out, I had an x-ray on my foot today and met the anesthesiologist yesterday. The headache is still here...
I hope you feel better soon, take care of yourself dearie.
Migraines are terrible, and then with everything else. I wish they could drug you up with something to give you some relief.
Try and keep your pecker up,
Lisa
