Drugs Made In China - Heparin Can Kill
This is one of the stories that have appeared in the news but I missed until it was pointed out to me by a blogger friend, The Knitting Nurse , thanks Rudee.
You can read more here, and here. Health Canada has ordered a recall on the drug.
This drug was given to my Mother last spring after she had the pacemaker surgery. Could this have been a contributing factor to her death? Why are pharmaceuticals imported from China? The question of the day...

That is absolutely scary! Why aren't there stricter guidelines? Maybe it did contribute to your mothers death...I hope not!
Thanks for the link Rositta. I hope barking out loud does help to eliminate this threat. I hope all who can, let their leaders know they're aware and concerned.
I hope for your sake that your mother was not a victim of such horrible practices.
Matty, I think that drug companies are more interested in the dollar than in our health. I guess they figure if they get sued the payout is still less than if they didn't sell the drug to begin with.
Rudee, your welcome, it was an excellent post and you did remind me that I had seen this before and wanted to write about it. I am not going to pursue it with the hospital, I wouldn't get very far very easily and I simply don't have the energy. I just hope that no one else gets this drug until they are sure it's safe...
