I Don't Think This Would Work Here!
How to beat a speeding ticket...
In Scotland, exceeding the speed limit by more than 30 mph is generally an infraction penalized by the loss of one’s license. Except, it would seem, if you are a polygamous Muslim husband dashing between homes in an effort to service more than one wife.
That exact scenario occurred earlier this year when a Scottish judge allowed a Muslim husband to retain his license after he was booked for driving 64 mph in a 30 mph zone. “He has one wife in Motherwell and another in Glasgow and sleeps with one one night and stays with the other the next on an alternate basis,” argued Mohammed Anwar’s lawyer. “Without his driving license, he would be unable to do this on a regular basis.”

I wonder if that would have been the verdict had he had a female judge.
That's an interesting thought Chrysalis, I wonder too...
Sadly this is not an isolated issue in the UK. This year, the Archbishop of Canterbury (no less !) proposed we should think about recognising Sharia Law in the UK.
Britain has taken the approach of "multiculturism" rather than intergration in respect of its mass immigration since WW2. Islamism shows the weakness of this as separate communities develop. I think we are fairly unusual amongst western democracies in having had our own "home grown" suicide bombers (born and bred in the UK).
Luis, we too have multiculturism here and very nearly got sharia in Ontario. I'm not sure the issue is really quite dead yet. Quite a liberal judge though...
