The View From Here

It's Friday - I'm Lazy - And We're Outta Here..

I'm a little lazy with blogging this week but that's because I have spent untold hours on the phone trying to score a couple of plane tickets to Greece. I was a tiny limited in when we could leave and my preferred date was September 2nd. There was just one seat available and heck, there are two of us so the search was on. The travel agent came through though in the end and got us two seats.

The bad news, it's on Olympic so I guess I have to "eat my words" of "never again", sigh...

The good news, I have more legroom because of my disability and I get to take an extra 26 kg of luggage which pleases me. Air Transat offered 12 inches of leg room and one suitcase of 30 kg per person. Olympic is allowing two pieces 26 kg per person and I get extra. It was a no brainer. All other airlines going to Athens have stop overs which don't suit me.

Now the hunt for travel insurance is on and this one is even more difficult. I have been told everything from "your not insurable" to sure we can do for $1,000. for the 52 days, gulp...still checking.

And now were checking out for a few days to head north and I'll do a little more pottery.

Insurance companies, like oil companies (exxon mobile reports a near 12 billion dollar profit for the "quarter") are thieves. Basta!

I'm glad you were able to book your trip though! Wish I could go too!!!

Not insurable? What a scam. I recently had to fly Olympic. I had low expectations, but it ended up being not so bad. I hope you have a smooth trip.

The insurance issue sucks. Because I had my heart problem fixed in April it had become a pre existing condition. Never mind that the doctors have given me a clean bill of heart health, according to the insurance question of "have you ever"...well you all know how that works. Olympic, well I'm just going to "suck it up" and hope for the best.

Sorry I have been away for so long. It was a long winter and between my daughter's illness and other things, I just have been slow getting back to blogging. Have a wonderful time on your trip! We have been at Kahshe since April but just recently got high speed access at our end of the lake so now I can blog again!

"Potter" away my friend, safe in the knowledge that all is taken care of for your holiday. That's a lot of kilos ;)

Hi Devil Mood, I know it sounds like a lot of luggage but there's two of us for 7 weeks plus I have to pack a different wardrobe for Germany where the weather is not as nice and warm as Greece especially in the Baltics where I think I might go this time.

Oh I didn't realise it was going to be such a big trip. I'm quite certain that you'll get at least two different seasons especially at that time of the year. Exciting!

Devil Mood, last year when I went to Germany in September I near froze to death that's why this year my wardrobe planning is going to be different, I'm sure it will be fun...
