Just For A Change Of Pace

Instead of knitting, this is what I did this weekend.

I know it doesn't look like much yet but wait a couple of weeks. Now it all has to dry, be trimmed, and fired twice. I haven't done any pottery in four years so it was pretty amazing that I could still do it. It used to be a business for me but now I will do it just for fun and for friends.

So while I was doing all of the above, they guys were out fishing and came home with this.

They made for a lovely dinner.

You are so clever. I never did pottery; shoot I was a bust at play dough.

I've always wanted to try making pottery, though I fear mine would have sides that looked more like an angry ocean than smooth glass shores like yours!

I emailed you a link to ipod reset instructions.

Marcia, angry ocean sided pottery can make some nice finished pieces, truly...mine though are more utility kind of stuff. I'm not terribly creative.
g's cottage, never had a chance to play with play dough, maybe that's why I'm fixated on clay now?
empress bee, thanks for saying that, I'm sure you were great...

Those fish are well-nourished!
I can't remember if I ever tried pottery before, to be honest, but it seems even more relaxing than knitting, except when it all falls down lol

Doing pottery at my cottage studio is the most relaxing thing for me. I spent 7 hours and didn't even realize so much time had passed, just me, the Ipod and the clay, wonderful...

I can't believe how talented you are! You have your way with all of it, don't you? You may not like the outcome of your felted bag, but I think it's charming. Your pottery is amazing.

How was the fish?
