Yes, There Was Cake

Okay, so I sort of celebrated another birthday yesterday. I'm all of 62 now. Yikes, where did the years go. My one and only offspring turned 44 this year and my grandchildren are 22, 21, 19 and 3. It just doesn't seem possible.

I hadn't planned on celebrating since I'm not seeing very well, I'm still in a RA flareup and I have caught a horrible cold from my husband, but what the heck, what's the alternative... So I baked a little cake, we went out for dinner with some friends and had a good time.

Since playing around with my offspring's IPod Touch at Christmas, I really coveted it, I mean I really really wanted one. My sweetie got me one for my birthday and it's just lovely. It's like a little computer besides being a music player. I'm having so much fun with it. There's not much I can't do with it if there is a Wifi connection around. The only thing it doesn't do is take picture, sadly.

So now I'm off to bed to nurse my cold and play with the games I've already downloaded...

Wow - It's Been A While

I had no idea how long it's been since I've written anything and I'll be surprised if there is still anybody out there. Oh well, that's life...I do have a good excuse. I'm still not up to snuff and since I don't want to whine I'd rather ignore the blog. In another two weeks or so my other eye will be operated and I hope for a better outcome. My eye doc finally admitted that yes, maybe there was a problem with the eye. He now says that the implanted lens is wrinkled and that once the other eye is done and healed there would be some laser correction.

Today the woman who takes care of my house brought me these...

In return, I gave her this...

I knit it just for her, doesn't she look great in it?

She periodically brings me flowers and I give her knitted stuff but his time it was because it's my birthday soon and it's her birthday too. We are both Pisces.

Happy Birthday Mom

My beloved Mother who died in May of 2007, would have turned 87 today. This is our third birthday without her and I truly thought she's still be with us. We miss her terribly.

I see so much of her in our granddaughter Elliotte, who she sadly never got to meet.

Tomorrow's The Day

Tomorrow I find out if surgery is possible to correct the macular pucker that came out of nowhere in January. Yes January, that's how long I've been waiting and I hope it's not too late. If there is a God out there I have to wonder what else is coming my way. People keep telling me that God only gives you what he/she thinks you can handle, well guess what...I'm done. I have been pushed so close to the edge these past two years since my Mom died I swear one more thing will just send me over.

So keep your fingers crossed (toes too) that all will be well tomorrow.

Meanwhile the garden is showing signs of life and I harvested some pussy willows yesterday. They were the plumpest since we put this bush in five years ago.

For my birthday my orchids obliged by being in full bloom and there was a new addition to the family. I've got five orchids now and I'd better stop collecting, my poor neighbour has to take care of them for two months every year.

And this little beauty...well that is an Amaryllis from a year ago. Usually I toss them out when they're done blooming but this one I kept and lo and behold I got it to bloom again this year. It pleases me that I could do that.

Oh yes, I blew out all the candles on the cake in one go...
